U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the end of the war against Iran is now within sight. However, he has not yet been able to determine exactly when the conflict between the United States and Iran will conclude.

Rubio explained that the finish line can already be seen, although it will not happen immediately—neither today nor tomorrow—but is expected to arrive soon. He made this statement during the “Hannity” program on Fox News, as reported by Al Jazeera on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).

He also indicated that direct talks between U.S. and Iranian officials may take place at some point in the future.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States would end the war with Iran within approximately two to three weeks, asserting that the conflict would soon come to an end.

Trump also said that the U.S. would halt its attacks on Iran within that two-to-three-week timeframe and claimed that the country had already achieved regime change in Iran.

In addition, Trump emphasized that the United States is capable of ending the war without engaging in any negotiations with Iran.

Pope Leo XIV also previously commented on Trump’s efforts to end the war with Iran. He stated that Trump appears to be seeking a “way out” to bring an end to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The Pope said he had been informed that Trump wants to end the war and expressed hope that these efforts are aimed at reducing violence and bombing. He conveyed this to journalists while leaving his residence in Castel Gandolfo, outside Rome, heading to the Vatican, as reported by AFP on Wednesday (April 1, 2026).

According to the Pope, such actions would represent a significant contribution to reducing the hatred that is currently being generated and escalating in the Middle East and beyond.

He also affirmed that he will continue urging world leaders to return to the negotiating table, engage in dialogue, and work together to find solutions to existing problems.
