Pertamina Fuel Prices Rise Again as Pertamax Green Reaches Rp19,150

Indonesia's state-owned fuel retailer Pertamina Patra Niaga adjusted several non-subsidized fuel prices during the first two days of September 2026, with the changes taking place in two separate stages.

The latest adjustment came into effect at midnight on September 2, when Pertamax Green 95 increased from Rp16,600 to Rp19,150 per liter.

It followed increases for Pertamax Turbo, Dexlite and Pertamina Dex that had already taken effect one day earlier.

Regular Pertamax, meanwhile, remained unchanged at Rp15,950 per liter in Jakarta and much of Java.

Two Days, Four Fuel Products Adjusted

The first round of changes took effect on September 1.

Pertamax Turbo, Pertamina's RON 98 gasoline, increased from Rp18,300 to Rp19,600 per liter.

Diesel products recorded larger nominal increases.

Dexlite rose from Rp19,700 to Rp23,700 per liter, while Pertamina Dex increased from Rp21,150 to Rp25,200.

At that point, Pertamax Green 95 was still priced at Rp16,600.

That changed the following day.

Beginning at midnight on September 2, Pertamax Green 95 was raised by Rp2,550 per liter to Rp19,150.

Why Did the Prices Change?

Pertamina Patra Niaga said its non-subsidized fuel pricing follows a formula established by the Indonesian government.

Several variables are considered.

International crude oil prices are one factor because changes in global energy markets can affect fuel economics.

The Indonesian rupiah's exchange rate is another important component.

Taxes and other relevant economic conditions are also incorporated into pricing calculations.

Pertamina has additionally said purchasing power and broader social conditions are considered when making adjustments.

The process therefore involves several variables rather than being directly linked to a single movement in crude oil prices.

Pertamax Stays Unchanged

One product that did not increase during the September 1–2 adjustments was Pertamax RON 92.

Its price remained at Rp15,950 per liter in Jakarta and many parts of Java.

That figure is important because some older price lists still show Pertamax at Rp16,250 per liter.

The Rp16,250 figure was the earlier price before Pertamax was reduced to Rp15,950 at the beginning of August 2026.

As of September 2, Rp15,950 is the relevant Jakarta and Java reference price.

Subsidized Fuels Also Remain Stable

The latest adjustments focused on selected non-subsidized products.

Pertalite remained priced at Rp10,000 per liter.

Subsidized Biosolar also remained unchanged at Rp6,800 per liter.

This means that Pertamina's early-September price changes should not be described as an increase across its entire fuel portfolio.

Four non-subsidized products changed over the two-day period, while several other fuels remained at their previous levels.

Fuel Prices Differ Across Indonesia

Indonesia's fuel pricing system also means motorists can see different prices depending on where they live.

Non-subsidized Pertamina products may carry different retail prices across provinces because regional pricing components can vary.

For that reason, national articles often use Jakarta or Java prices as a reference rather than suggesting every Pertamina station across Indonesia charges exactly the same amount.

Consumers outside those areas should confirm the latest price for their province.

Pertamax Green 95 Is the Latest Product to Rise

The September 2 adjustment puts Pertamax Green 95 much closer to Pertamax Turbo in nominal retail price.

Pertamax Green is now Rp19,150 per liter in Jakarta and the relevant Java regions, while Pertamax Turbo is Rp19,600.

However, the two products have different octane ratings and specifications.

Pertamax Green carries a RON 95 rating and includes a bioethanol blend, while Pertamax Turbo is a RON 98 gasoline product.

Consumers should therefore choose fuel based not only on price but also on the specifications recommended for their vehicles.

What Motorists Should Check

Fuel prices can change between pricing periods, particularly for non-subsidized products.

Motorists should pay attention to three factors when reviewing price information online: the effective date, the region and the specific fuel grade.

A price published for Jakarta does not necessarily apply in another province, while an article published just one or two days earlier may no longer reflect the latest adjustment.

Pertamina has also encouraged customers to purchase fuel according to their needs and use products that match their vehicles' specifications.

September Begins With Significant Changes

Pertamina's first two pricing days of September brought noticeable changes to its premium gasoline and diesel lineup.

Pertamax Turbo reached Rp19,600 per liter on September 1, while Dexlite moved to Rp23,700 and Pertamina Dex to Rp25,200.

On September 2, Pertamax Green 95 followed with an increase to Rp19,150 per liter.

Regular Pertamax stayed at Rp15,950 in Jakarta and much of Java, while subsidized Pertalite and Biosolar remained unchanged.
