5 Indonesia Stock Picks for August 3: BBRI to SGER

Saham News - Posted on 03 August 2026 Reading time 5 minutes

Indonesian equities enter the first trading week of August with two major catalysts: a positive close on Wall Street and the implementation of the latest IDX30, LQ45, and IDX80 index compositions.

Against this backdrop, five stocks appear on Mega Capital Sekuritas’ trading watchlist: BBRI, AMMN, ASII, PACK, and SGER.

Five Trading Setups to Watch

The following trading levels are based on the Mega Capital Sekuritas material provided for this article.

SGER

JCI Ends July in Positive Territory

According to the market summary supplied for this article, the Jakarta Composite Index, or JCI, gained 0.80% to close at 6,236.13 on Friday, July 31, 2026.

BBRI, ASII, and AMMN were among the index’s leading positive contributors. BBCA, TLKM, and ADRO limited the advance.

Foreign investors recorded net selling of IDR 34.82 billion in the regular market and IDR 250.53 billion across all markets.

Ten of the eleven IDX sectors finished higher. Basic Industry led the gains with a 2.54% increase, while the Non-Cyclical sector slipped 0.03%.

The divergence between a rising headline index and continued foreign net selling suggests that investors should continue monitoring the quality and breadth of the rally.

Wall Street Provides a Supportive Lead

The three major United States equity benchmarks closed higher on July 31.

The Nasdaq Composite rose 1%, the S&P 500 gained 0.70%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average advanced 0.53%. Amazon’s strong earnings helped offset weakness in Apple, although higher Treasury yields remained a concern for investors.

The positive United States close may support Asian market sentiment. Domestic factors, however, are likely to remain more influential for Indonesian stocks, particularly foreign fund flows, currency movements, and index-related transactions.

Index Rebalancing Takes Effect

The new IDX30, LQ45, and IDX80 compositions are effective from August 3 through October 30, 2026.

DEWA has joined the IDX30 in place of PTBA. INDY and NCKL have entered the LQ45, replacing SMGR and TOWR. IDX80 also underwent several constituent changes.

Index funds, exchange-traded funds, and institutional portfolios that track these benchmarks may need to adjust their holdings.

Such portfolio adjustments can increase short-term trading activity, but index inclusion alone does not guarantee positive returns. Liquidity, valuation, earnings quality, and broader market conditions still matter.

DRMA Builds Its Electric-Vehicle Exposure

PT Dharma Polimetal Tbk, or DRMA, is expanding beyond its traditional automotive-component business and developing locally produced electric-vehicle charging infrastructure.

The company introduced charging-station technology and an integrated Battery Energy Storage System at the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show. The initiative is intended to strengthen Indonesia’s domestic electric-vehicle ecosystem and reduce dependence on imported components.

DRMA generated approximately IDR 5.9 trillion in revenue in 2025 and previously indicated a 2026 sales target of approximately IDR 6 trillion.

Serpong Remains a Key Growth Engine for SMRA

PT Summarecon Agung Tbk, or SMRA, continues to expand its commercial ecosystem in Summarecon Serpong.

The company is developing The Hood, a creative retail compound covering approximately 3.9 hectares. The semi-outdoor destination is designed around retail, dining, entertainment, and community activities and is expected to launch or reach completion in 2026.

SMRA is also marketing Strozzi Commercial in the Symphonia area, with units starting at approximately IDR 4 billion. The project is located within walking distance of The Hood.

The property developer recorded IDR 1.20 trillion in marketing sales during the first quarter of 2026, representing approximately 37% year-on-year growth. Its full-year marketing-sales target stands at IDR 5.20 trillion.

Serpong contributed approximately IDR 1.12 trillion in presales during the first half of 2026, up 18.9% from the same period a year earlier.

ELSA Reports Faster Profit Growth

PT Elnusa Tbk, or ELSA, reported first-half 2026 revenue of approximately IDR 7.59 trillion, an increase of around 8.9% year on year.

Net profit attributable to owners of the parent increased by approximately 29.2% to IDR 434.7 billion. EBITDA reached approximately IDR 861.7 billion.

The source material also states that ELSA plans to allocate up to IDR 100 billion for a share-buyback program scheduled from August 3 to November 2, 2026.

Risk Management Remains Essential

The recommended entry zones, targets, and stop-loss levels should be treated as a structured trading plan rather than a prediction that prices will inevitably rise.

A trader entering substantially above the proposed buy zone may face a less favorable risk-to-reward ratio. Stop-loss discipline is also important because corporate news, foreign flows, exchange-rate movements, and index rebalancing can create sharp short-term volatility.
