Bisnis-27 Index Opens Higher as MBMA and Banking Stocks Lead Early Gains

Indonesia's Bisnis-27 Index started Thursday's trading session on a positive note, supported by buying interest in several heavyweight stocks. The benchmark, jointly developed by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) and Bisnis Indonesia, advanced shortly after the market opened alongside gains in the broader Jakarta Composite Index (JCI).

The index climbed approximately 0.30% in early trading, with 13 constituent stocks posting gains, eight declining, and six remaining unchanged.

MBMA Tops the Gainers List

PT Merdeka Battery Materials Tbk. (MBMA) emerged as the strongest performer, rising about 1.92% to Rp530 per share.

Other major contributors included PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI), which gained around 1.19%, and PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk. (CPIN), which advanced nearly 0.98%.

Additional support came from AKR Corporindo (AKRA) and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI), both recording moderate gains during the opening session.

Several Constituents Opened Lower

Not all index members participated in the rally. Shares of PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (AMRT) posted the steepest decline among Bisnis-27 constituents, falling roughly 1.47%.

Mining equipment distributor United Tractors (UNTR) and healthcare operator Mitra Keluarga Karyasehat (MIKA) also traded lower during the morning session, reflecting selective profit-taking across sectors.

Broader Market Also Advanced

The positive tone extended to the broader market as the Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened at 6,059.85 before adding approximately 0.30% in early trading.

More than 1.11 billion shares changed hands with trading value reaching about Rp342 billion. Market breadth remained positive, with 228 advancing stocks, 144 decliners, and 271 unchanged securities. The total market capitalization of the Indonesian stock market stood at approximately Rp10,614 trillion.

The early performance suggests investors maintained a constructive outlook at the start of the session while continuing to monitor domestic developments and international market catalysts that could influence trading throughout the day.
