Recently, the United States government seized 145 domain names along with several cryptocurrency assets linked to BidenCash, a dark web marketplace accused of trading millions of stolen credit card data and personal information.

According to an official statement from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia on Wednesday (June 4, 2025), BidenCash began operations in March 2022 and served as a hub for illegal transactions, including the sale of credit card data, login credentials, and access to compromised servers.

Over two years of operation, the marketplace served more than 117,000 users and facilitated over 15 million card transactions, generating revenue exceeding US$17 million or approximately Rp275 billion.

Besides selling stolen data, BidenCash also provided compromised login credentials for unauthorized access to computers or servers. To promote its services and attract new users, the platform’s operators regularly distributed millions of credit card data for free.

Between October 2022 and February 2023, BidenCash released around 3.3 million stolen card data entries, including card numbers, CVV codes, account holder names, email addresses, and physical addresses. This strategy was used to build reputation among cybercriminals, especially after the platform experienced disruptions due to Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks — efforts to overwhelm systems with fake internet traffic.

Throughout its operation, BidenCash also charged transaction fees to users seeking access to the illegal data, adding another revenue stream for the dark web marketplace operators.

Domains Blocked, Crypto Seized
All seized domains have now been redirected to law enforcement servers to prevent further illegal activity. The U.S. government has also secured legal authorization to confiscate cryptocurrency assets directly linked to the marketplace’s operations, although the exact amount has not been disclosed publicly.

The crackdown on BidenCash is part of a global wave of actions targeting cryptocurrency-based criminal networks on the dark web. Earlier in May, Operation RapTor, a multinational coordinated effort, arrested 270 individuals across 10 countries, seized assets worth over US$200 million or about Rp3.2 trillion—including hundreds of millions of dollars in crypto assets—and dismantled several online drug trafficking platforms.
