Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that the government will allocate approximately Rp13 trillion in incentives during the Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 2026 period. The incentives will take the form of discounted fares across various modes of transportation as well as social assistance, including rice and cooking oil aid, similar to programs implemented in the previous year.
He explained that the measures will combine transportation discounts with food-related social assistance, covering rice and cooking oil. The fare reductions will apply to air travel, railways, sea transportation, land transport, and toll roads. Airlangga added that the total value of incentives is expected to exceed those provided in earlier years, with the budget allocation set at around Rp13 trillion.
Over the past year, the government has actively rolled out fiscal stimulus packages during long holiday periods and major national religious holidays, with transportation and toll discounts being a recurring policy. Most recently, similar incentives were offered during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holidays, featuring discounts ranging from 13% to 30% on air, rail, and sea transportation.
