DIGIVESTASI - Elon Musk, the richest man in the world in 2023, has decided not to own a home, according to Bloomberg Rich List. The founder of Tesla and SpaceX is considered eccentric and likes to cause controversy. Instead of using his entire fortune to accumulate real estate, Elon Musk chose to rent it out.

In 2022, US media reports said Elon Musk sold seven of his homes in California after promising to "never own a home". In May 2021, Musk tweeted, "I have sold almost all of my physical assets. 'I have no intention of owning a home.'" And eight months later, Musk made good on his promise. Among the properties Musk sold were the former homes of Willy Wonka and Chocolate Factory actor Gene Wilder, who died in 2016 at the age of 83.

Why doesn't Elon Musk want to own a house? Where does he live now? Musk admitted that he doesn't own a house because he wants to live a minimalist lifestyle. According to reports, Elon Musk decided to live in a small rented house in August 2022. In fact, Musk admitted that he really enjoyed living in the rented house. It is known, the price of this house is $50,000 or around IDR 755 million. 

"My primary residence is actually a $50,000 house in Boca Chica that I rented from SpaceX. It's really cool," he wrote on Twitter. The Texas house is a very small house that looks like a box and was created by a startup called Boxabl as a cheap modular housing solution. It measures approximately 6 x 6 meters.

It happens to be located close to the SpaceX research center.  SpaceX probably rents it as a residence for its employees, including its CEO.
