Singapore-based internet infrastructure developer and operator, Princeton Digital Group (PDG), has converted a US$105 million loan—equivalent to approximately Rp1.71 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp16,350 per US dollar)—into green financing to support the construction of the 22-megawatt (MW) JC2 data center campus in Jakarta.
For reference, a data center campus is a physical facility designed to house computer systems and supporting infrastructure, including data storage and communication networks.
“This strategic financing aligns with PDG’s Green Financing Framework (GFF), established in 2024, and complies with internationally recognized Green Loan Principles (GLP). The process was structured in collaboration with Green Loan Coordinators, namely PT Bank DBS Indonesia and PT Bank UOB Indonesia,” stated PDG Chairman, CEO, and Co-founder Rangu Salgame in an official statement on Sunday (March 16, 2025).
Salgame further explained that JC2 is designed for high reliability and scalability, incorporating an energy-efficient modular uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system and a high-efficiency cooling plant. This project not only reflects PDG’s commitment to sustainable growth and environmental management, but also supports Indonesia’s digital economy and the country’s net zero emission targets.
“Green financing is crucial for the development of low-carbon infrastructure, ensuring long-term environmental resilience. The support from leading banks underscores PDG’s ability to tackle sustainability challenges while building large-scale AI infrastructure,” he added.
Additionally, JC2 will be Indonesia’s first data center campus to offer biomass-powered capacity to its clients.
“By pioneering innovations such as biomass energy, we are not only delivering a data center that powers Indonesia’s digital economy, but also contributing to the country’s net-zero ambitions,” Salgame concluded.
PDG currently operates data centers in Singapore, Japan, India, Indonesia, China, and Malaysia.
