Foreign Funds of $140M Flood in a Day, These Stocks Soared!

A strong inflow of foreign funds helped drive the rise of the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG) in yesterday’s trading session, Tuesday (Aug 12, 2025).
The IHSG closed higher by 2.44% at 7,791.7 in the second session. Throughout the day, the index moved within the range of 7,646.91 to 7,800.83.

 

A total of 406 stocks gained, 264 stocks declined, and 286 remained unchanged. The total transaction value reached Rp 19.3 trillion, involving 29.13 billion shares traded across 2.21 million transactions.

 

According to Refinitiv data, the technology sector recorded the strongest growth at 7.08%, followed by utilities with a 3.64% gain, and financials with a 3.54% increase.

 

Market data shows that net foreign buy reached Rp 2.21 trillion in yesterday’s session. This brings the total foreign net buy over the first two trading days of this week to Rp 3.06 trillion. Year-to-date, foreign investors have accumulated a net buy of Rp 58.87 trillion.

 

Three state-owned enterprises (SOEs) became the main targets of foreign investors in yesterday’s trading: BBRI with a net buy of Rp 718.2 billion, BMRI Rp 511.5 billion, and TLKM Rp 343.9 billion.

 

This foreign fund inflow also boosted their share prices — BBRI soared 6.30% to Rp 4,050, BMRI rose 4.03% to Rp 4,910, and TLKM climbed 6.35% to Rp 3,180.

 

In addition to SOEs, energy and mining companies were also among foreign investors’ picks in the second trading day of this week. RAJA posted a net buy of Rp 130.5 billion, AMMN Rp 111.1 billion, BRPT Rp 53.7 billion, BREN Rp 31.2 billion, and ADRO Rp 30 billion.

  5. PT Rukun Raharja Tbk (RAJA) – Rp 130.5 billion

  6. PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) – Rp 111.1 billion

  7. PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) – Rp 53.7 billion

  8. PT Astra International Tbk (ASII) – Rp 33.3 billion

  9. PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) – Rp 31.2 billion

  10. PT Alamtri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) – Rp 30 billion
