The Head of the Security Maintenance Agency (Kabaharkam) of the Indonesian National Police, Commissioner General Fadil Imran, revealed that the budget for securing the 2024 elections, or Operation Mantap Brata, has reached IDR 2 trillion. "The budget for Operation Mantap Brata is approximately IDR 2 trillion 5 billion," he stated during a press conference at Nusantara III Building, Senayan Parliament, Jakarta, on Wednesday (15/11/2023). The allocation of these funds is divided, with IDR 1 trillion 5 billion designated for this year and the remaining IDR 1 trillion for the 2024 elections.

In detail, the budget is allocated to two operational activities. Firstly, for central operations at the National Police Headquarters, around IDR 50 billion to IDR 60 billion, while the remaining approximately IDR 900 billion is allocated for the 34 Regional Police (Polda) across Indonesia. "This includes securing polling stations (Tempat Pemungutan Suara), infrastructure, and others for 222 days. The funds will be utilized over 222 days," he explained. However, for the security operations of other election-related activities, such as the Nusantara Cooling System security operation and Contingency Operation Safe Nusa 1, 2, and 3, they have separate budget allocations.

Fadil admitted that he does not have detailed information regarding the budget used for contingency operations, such as social conflicts, natural disasters, and terrorism. "I don't have data for the others yet; I will inquire because our current focus is on Operation Mantap Brata," said the Head of Operation Mantap Brata 2023-2024. Nevertheless, he assured that the budgets for the other two security operations will not be as substantial as the Operation Mantap Brata.
