The retail company behind the Alfamart brand, PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (AMRT), is aiming for a 7% year-on-year (YoY) revenue growth in 2025. Although this target is lower than the 10.54% YoY growth recorded in 2024—when total revenue reached Rp118.22 trillion—the company considers the 7% goal to be realistic for this year’s market conditions.
To achieve this target, AMRT has prepared a capital expenditure (capex) budget of between Rp4.5 trillion and Rp5 trillion for 2025. According to Corporate Secretary Tomin Widian, this budget will primarily be allocated toward building new stores and renewing business licenses for existing Alfamart outlets.
The company is also planning to construct 1,000 new outlets, with the majority located in the Greater Jakarta area (Jabodetabek). “Our capex for 2025 is in the range of Rp4.5 to Rp5 trillion. Around Rp3 trillion will go toward store expansion and renewals, covering approximately 2,700 to 2,800 stores,” Tomin explained during a public presentation on Thursday (May 22, 2025).
In addition to retail expansion, the budget will be used to develop several new distribution centers (DCs). A portion of the capex—Rp1.5 trillion—will be allocated specifically for DC construction throughout 2025. Currently, AMRT is in the process of developing two new distribution centers in Palangkaraya and Bengkulu. Tomin stated that the DC in Bengkulu is expected to be completed in the second half of 2025.
“We believe the Bengkulu DC has strong potential. It will work in conjunction with our existing DC in Palembang,” he added.
According to the company's financial report, AMRT—owned by conglomerate Djoko Susanto—recorded a 10.54% YoY increase in net revenue, reaching Rp118.22 trillion in 2024. The largest contribution came from operations in Java (excluding Jabodetabek), which generated Rp44.55 trillion. Revenue from regions outside Java totaled Rp43.38 trillion, while Jabodetabek contributed Rp33.18 trillion.
The company also saw a rise in the cost of goods sold (COGS), increasing from Rp83.87 trillion in 2023 to Rp92.86 trillion in 2024. Selling and distribution expenses rose to Rp20.2 trillion from Rp17.88 trillion the previous year. General and administrative expenses also climbed to Rp2.17 trillion in 2024, compared to Rp1.89 trillion in 2023. Other expenses increased from Rp88.63 billion in 2023 to Rp126.98 billion in 2024.
As a result, AMRT’s operating profit declined by 7.91% YoY to Rp4.07 trillion in 2024, down from Rp4.42 trillion in 2023.
