A special moment occurred between U.S. President Donald Trump and Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto during the Gaza Peace Summit (KTT Perdamaian Gaza). During the event, Trump was seen greeting and praising Prabowo.

The encounter took place both before and during the Gaza Peace Summit held in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, on Monday (October 13). Initially, Trump personally greeted Prabowo upon his arrival.

According to a video broadcast by Times News on YouTube (Monday, 13 October 2025), Trump welcomed world leaders one by one on stage, against the backdrop of the Sharm El-Sheikh ‘Peace 2025’ Summit. Trump appeared dressed in a blue suit during the ceremony.

He shook hands and posed for photos with several heads of state, including French President Emmanuel Macron.

When it was Prabowo’s turn, who was wearing a gray suit, Trump greeted him warmly with a handshake. At that moment, Trump praised Prabowo by saying that he saw a tough man standing before him.

“I see tough man right here,” said Donald Trump.

Trump and Prabowo shared a brief conversation while shaking hands before posing for a photo together.

During the photo session, Trump smiled broadly beside Prabowo. Unlike his interactions with previous leaders, Trump gave a thumbs-up gesture during the photo with Prabowo.

Seeing Trump’s gesture, Prabowo responded with a thumbs-up of his own before entering the summit hall.

Prabowo Described as an Extraordinary Leader

Beyond the greeting, Trump also complimented President Prabowo during his speech at the Gaza Peace Summit, referring to him as an extraordinary figure from Indonesia.

Trump began by thanking all world leaders who attended the summit, including Prabowo, before publicly acknowledging him in front of the assembly.

“Together with us today is President Prabowo, an extraordinary leader from Indonesia,” said Trump.

The remark drew applause from the attending world leaders. Prabowo then saluted Trump, and the two once again approached each other to shake hands.

Trump Praises Indonesia as a Rapidly Developing Nation

In addition, Trump took a moment to express his admiration for Indonesia, calling it a strong and rapidly growing country.

“Indonesia, as we’ve discussed, I just want to say it’s a great nation — a strong nation that is developing remarkably,” Trump stated.

He went on to express his delight that Indonesia was part of the Gaza Peace Summit, and praised Prabowo’s participation in the peace agreement signing ceremony.

“It’s a great pleasure to have you here. Iraq is also with us,” Trump added.
