DIGIVESTASI - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs: 80 Thousand Online Gamblers in Indonesia Are Under 10 Years Old. The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam), Hadi Tjahjanto, revealed that 80 thousand online gamblers in Indonesia are under 10 years old.

"Two percent of the total online gamblers are under 10 years old, totaling 80 thousand," said Hadi at the Ministry of Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs office in Jakarta on Wednesday (June 19).

Additionally, Hadi explained that there are 440 thousand online gamblers aged between 10 and 20 years. Meanwhile, players aged 21 to 30 years are recorded at 520 thousand.

He further mentioned that there are 1.6 million online gamblers aged between 30 and 50 years.

"For those over 50 years old, it reaches 34 percent, approximately 1,350,000 players. Most of them come from the lower-middle class, which accounts for 80 percent of the total 2.37 million players," he explained.

Hadi also highlighted that the lower-middle class typically spends between Rp10 thousand and Rp100 thousand on online gambling.

"Meanwhile, for the upper-middle class, transaction amounts range from Rp100 thousand to Rp40 billion," he added.

Hadi also conveyed that the Online Gambling Eradication Task Force formed by President Joko Widodo has already begun operations. He assured that the task force members, consisting of cross-ministerial/agency representatives, have aligned their mindsets and operational standards to combat online gambling.

"Thus, we all operate on the same track, with ministries/agencies collaborating to achieve the goal of eradicating online gambling. In coordination meetings, we move together without sectoral ego," he concluded.
