DIGIVESTASI - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that the investment value in the energy and mineral resources sector will reach 30.3 billion USD in 2023, an increase of 11% compared to the previous year of 27 billion USD. 
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arifin Tasrif explained that the oil and gas industry will remain the main contributor to investment in the energy sector in 2023. 

"The oil and gas industry still dominates investment at 15.6 billion US dollars," Arifin said in a press release on Tuesday (January 16, 2024). In addition, Arifin said, the mineral and coal sector also followed with an investment value of USD 7.46 billion. The Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) sector recently recorded an investment of 1.5 billion USD. Meanwhile, the electricity industry recorded investment capital of 5.8 billion USD. By 2024, the investment target for the ESDM sector is set at $28.2 billion. 

Data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources shows that investment in the EMR sector in 2018 reached 31.2 billion USD, in 2019 up to 30.6 billion USD, in 2020 up to 26.3 billion USD, in 2019 up to 27.5 billion USD, and in 2022 up to 27 billion USD.

Dalam kesempatan tersebut, Arifin tidak hanya memberikan informasi mengenai proses investasi di sektor energi, namun juga menjelaskan bagaimana sektor ini mengalami gangguan pada tahun-tahun sebelumnya akibat dampak pandemi COVID-19. 

“Sebelumnya kita sebenarnya mempunyai tren yang cukup baik pada tahun 2018-2019 lalu pada tahun 2020 kita terkena COVID-19 dan mulai pulih pada tahun 2021-2022 dan kemudian puncak ini terjadi pada tahun 2023 dengan rekor 30,3 miliar USD.” dia berkata. Arifin menambahkan, meski terdapat kendala yang dihadapi pada tahun 2020, sektor energi telah berhasil pulih dan kembali memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap perekonomian.
