Bank Indonesia reported 6.11 billion digital payment transactions in August 2026, up 40.36% from a year earlier. Mobile banking transactions grew 47.08% year on year and QRIS transactions 67.22%. These figures show strong use of digital channels; transaction volume does not automatically reveal each person’s spending value or behavior.
Digital payments make daily purchases convenient, but speed can make small expenses less noticeable. Users can set a weekly spending limit, turn on transaction alerts, and review account activity regularly so recurring and routine payments stay visible.
Protect your account by using official apps, locking your device, checking the recipient before confirming, and never sharing a PIN or one-time passcode. If you spot an unfamiliar transaction, contact your payment provider through its official channel promptly. Digital convenience works best alongside budget controls and sound security habits.
