Economic Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto said lower logistics costs could create room for growth of 7%–7.5%. Bisnis.com reported on November 5 that he compared Indonesia’s ICOR, at about 6%, with special economic zones, below 4%. The comparison illustrates investment efficiency, rather than an outcome already achieved.
In Q3 2026, gross fixed capital formation represented 30.81% of GDP and contributed 1.91 percentage points to growth. The investment share underscores the value of capital productivity and infrastructure, but does not mean all investment delivers growth of equal quality.
Logistics affects delivery times, inventory expenses, and competitiveness. Faster growth would require genuine efficiency, regulatory certainty, and productive investment. The 7%–7.5% figure is an optimistic official view conditional on lower costs, not an independent forecast or guarantee.
