The government is preparing additional incentives for 16,990 Civil Servants (ASN) who will relocate to the National Capital of Indonesia (IKN). The relocation process will begin gradually from July 2024.

Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas stated that they are currently formulating the incentive scheme. There will be two types of incentives, namely relocation incentives and sustainability incentives.

"For those who will move to IKN, the first will be relocation incentives, including relocation allowances and sustainability allowances. The exact amount will depend on readiness," he said during an interview at Bidakara Hotel, South Jakarta, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.

Minister Anas explained that they are currently working with the Ministry of Finance to determine the incentive amounts. They hope that when ASN starts moving to IKN, these incentives will be ready for distribution.

"We are currently simulating how many buildings are ready to accommodate people in July. The incentives will be given per person," he said.

Before these ASN move, Anas further stated that they have calculated the number of ASN per Ministry/Institution (KL) and their positions that will move to IKN. They will also be categorized, whether they are single or already married.

"We will adjust the costs accordingly, for example, unmarried ASN will live in shared apartments, while those who are already married will be different. We will adapt to the conditions there, including air quality," he explained.

As additional information, according to the calculations of the Ministry of PANRB, there will be around 16,990 ASN personnel and defense and security personnel (Hankam) who will relocate to IKN by 2024. At least 35 ministries and institutions will be among the first to move, including four coordinating ministries.
