DIGIVESTASI - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) visited one of the coffee producers in the Philippines, namely Kopiko Philippines Corporation (KPC), part of PT Mayora Indah Tbk (IDX: MYOR). 

In his remarks after the visit, the President said that KPC is a form of investment from Indonesian businesses that has the ability to dominate the Philippine market. "Earlier we saw the investment of our Indonesian companies in the Philippines, especially Mayora, which controls almost 50% of the market in the Philippines," the President said in Carmona, Philippines, Thursday (October 1, 2024). 

According to the chairman, the number of coffee products produced by KPC is very large. Therefore, the President hopes that this industry can have a positive impact on Indonesian farmers by helping to provide raw materials for production. He continued, "So I think the number of packaged coffee products is very large and will contribute to meeting the needs of raw materials for coffee, cassava and others, which will be very good for farmers." 

In addition to the food and beverage processing industry, during his visit to the Philippines, President Jokowi also visited the seaweed processing industry at W Hydrocolloids Inc. After consideration, the President assessed that Indonesia also has a great opportunity to develop the seaweed processing industry. The Head of State believes that Indonesia has high potential supported by the vast coastal areas.

Furthermore, the President hopes that seaweed processing in Indonesia will continue to be expanded so that it can provide added value to farmers. 

"Yes, our farmers must be prepared so that we have a larger capacity, so that part of it is produced in Indonesia, part of it can be exported to the Philippines or other countries so that it brings a good price," he said, providing added value for our farmers. Speaking.
