DIGIVESTASI - Indonesia's economic performance is considered to be on the right track. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati estimates that Indonesia will always be included in the list of countries with the highest economic growth rates in the world. The state treasurer said that Indonesia is included in the list of G20 and ASEAN countries with economic growth rates above 5%. In total, only 4 countries have economic growth rates above 5%.

"Indonesia also recorded and performed relatively well. "When compared to ASEAN and G20 countries which are countries close to Indonesia and equal, we see that our GDP growth rate is also relatively high or is among the 3 ASEAN and G20 countries that maintain growth rates above 5%. explained Sri Mulyani during a press conference at the Ministry of Finance Office, Tuesday (February 1, 2024).

In her presentation, India will achieve the highest economic growth with an estimate of 6.3%. Below that is the Philippines with an estimate of 5.9%. At that time, Vietnam will achieve economic growth of 5.8%. Indonesia is ranked fourth with an estimated economic growth of 5.2%.

Ranking below Indonesia is Malaysia with an expected economic growth rate of 4.3%. According to Sri Mulyani, the optimistic forecast is supported by Manufacturing Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) data. According to him, in 2023 alone, Indonesia's manufacturing PMI is in an expansion zone of 52.2 percentage points.

"The more developed the industry, the higher the economic growth that a country can achieve. In ASEAN, Indonesia's PMI is 52.2, which shows that Indonesia is active in manufacturing activities," Sri Mulyani explained.
