The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) opened in positive territory in today’s trading session on Thursday (12/2/2026). Several stocks, including BUMI, PTRO, and ANTM, moved higher in the morning session. According to RTI Infokom data, at 09:00 WIB the IHSG opened stronger at 8,304.01. Shortly after the opening, the index fluctuated within the range of 8,298 to 8,329. A total of 338 stocks advanced, 113 declined, and 208 remained unchanged. The market capitalization of the IHSG was recorded at Rp15,117 trillion.
Shares of PT Bumi Resources Tbk. (BUMI) were among the gainers, rising 2.21% to Rp278 per share. Meanwhile, PT Petrosea Tbk. (PTRO) climbed 2.81% to Rp7,325 per share. The Research Team of Phintraco Sekuritas estimates that the IHSG has the potential to extend its gains and test the 8,350–8,400 range in Thursday’s (12/2/2026) trading. The combination of fiscal stimulus and seasonal consumption growth ahead of the Lunar New Year, Ramadan, and Eid al-Fitr is expected to support economic growth in the first quarter of 2026.
The government has allocated Rp12.83 trillion for an economic stimulus package in the first quarter of 2026, which includes transportation ticket discounts, toll fee reductions, and social assistance. The stimulus measures will be implemented during February–March 2026.
In addition, market sentiment is supported by ongoing discussions between the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) and MSCI, covering disclosure requirements for shareholders owning more than 1%, provision of more granular investor data, and progress on increasing the minimum free float requirement from 7.5% to 15%. The BEI also plans to introduce a new policy in the form of a shareholders concentration list, identifying stocks suspected of having concentrated ownership.
