Indonesia's External Debt Hits Rp7,488 Trillion-What It Means for the Economy

All fuel providers at gas stations (SPBU) throughout Indonesia unanimously reduced the prices of their fuel products on November 1, 2023. These companies include PT Pertamina (Persero), Shell Indonesia, BP - AKR, and Vivo Energy Indonesia.
For example, the sale of Shell Indonesia's fuel, such as Shell Super, has decreased to Rp 14,360 per liter from the previous price of Rp 15,380 per liter. Meanwhile, Shell V Power has also decreased to Rp 15,270 from Rp 16,350 per liter. Shell V Power Diesel has decreased to Rp 17,780 per liter from Rp 17,920 per liter.
Not only Shell, non-subsidized fuel from Pertamina in DKI Jakarta has also experienced a significant decrease. For instance, the price of Pertamax fuel in DKI Jakarta is now Rp 13,400, down from Rp 14,000 per liter in October.
Additionally, Pertamax Turbo has also decreased in price to Rp 15,500 per liter from the previous price of Rp 16,600 per liter. The price of Dexlite on November 1, 2023, has decreased to Rp 16,950 per liter from the previous Rp 17,200 per liter. The price of Pertamax Green 95 has decreased to Rp 15,000 per liter from Rp 16,000 per liter.
Furthermore, the price of Dexlite on November 1, 2023, has decreased to Rp 16,950 per liter from the previous Rp 17,200 per liter. The price of Pertamina DEX has also decreased to Rp 17,750 per liter from Rp 17,900 per liter.
Irto Ginting, the Corporate Secretary of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, explained that the new prices on November 1, 2023, are based on the pricing regulations set in Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 245.K/MG.01/MEM.M/2022 as an amendment to Ministerial Decree No. 62/K/12/MEM/2020 regarding the pricing formulation for Common Fuel Types (JBU) or non-subsidized fuels.
"In the period of November 1, 2023, Pertamina Patra Niaga is once again adjusting the prices downward for the Pertamax Series and Dex Series," he stated in an official statement on Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Irto also mentioned that non-subsidized fuel prices are subject to fluctuations, and Pertamina periodically evaluates them in accordance with market trends and mechanisms. Pertamina takes into account various factors, including crude oil prices, MOPS publication, and exchange rates, to ensure the supply and distribution of fuel to all corners of the country.
