DIGIVESTASI - Mineral water company owned by Crazy Rich Surabaya Hermanto Tanoko PT Sariguna Primatirta Tbk.(CLEO) or Tanobel Group reported that it will start operating a drinking water factory in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) by the end of 2023. Cleo brand mineral water factories spread to Samarinda and Balikpapan.

In its official statement, CLEO said the operation of the factory is proof of its seriousness in supporting the development of the new capital city by investing and utilizing market potential in the IKN area. The factory is located in Karya Merdeka, Samboja District, Kutai Kartanegara, the factory is about 40 minutes from the zero point of IKN.

"The inclusion of our factory in IKN, apart from being a strategic step in developing the distribution supply chain outside Java, also has a very strong symbolic meaning, where CLEO is present with its attractive investment in the new center of government, with its location in the central region of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," said Melisa Patricia, CEO of CLEO, in an official statement received on Monday (1 / August 2024).

By 2023, CLEO will spend around Rp300 billion to build factories, add machinery, and strengthen its distribution network through investment. Thus, Tanobel Group will start 2024 with ownership of 32 Cleo brand drinking water factories and will become the largest bottled drinking water (AMDK) producer with factories in Indonesia. 

CLEO said that this year it will invest Rp300 billion to add new factories, expand existing factories, add machinery to increase production capacity and automation and expand its distribution network. The company plans to build three new factories in Palu, Central Sulawesi; Pontianak, West Kalimantan; and Pekanbaru, Riau. 

With this expansion plan, CLEO is confident that its double-digit annual growth target from start to finish will be achieved, including in 2024.
