DIGIVESTASI - Android Phone Owners Get Rp 10.8 T 'Collapsed Durian' from GoogleAlphabet agreed to pay a fine of 700 million US dollars or equivalent to Rp 10.8 trillion, after being caught in a monopoly case. The majority of this amount belongs to Android phone owners, reaching 90% or the equivalent of around 630 million USD as consumer compensation.

Meanwhile, the remaining 70 million USD will be transferred to the Treasury. Google also promised changes to its app store service, Play Store. In the future, developers may use alternative payment systems. Google is prohibited from imposing the Play Store payment system as the only option for developers.

Google was also asked to simplify the process of downloading apps directly from the developer's site. Users will be free to download these applications outside the Play Store.
In exclusivity cases reported by several groups in the US, Google was proven to monopolize applications through the Play Store. This action clearly kills a healthy competition system.

This failure is one of many that Google has experienced. One of them, the Mountain View giant, had to fight Epic Games in a test and lost. Mobile game app developers accuse Google of making huge profits from app developers. Specifically by charging a high commission for each app component payment through Google's system.

In addition, Google is also being sued by the US Department of Justice for violating search engine competition and digital advertising laws.  Meanwhile, the Play Store exclusivity agreement was actually signed last September. However, this was only announced recently.

Alphabet promises the operating system and Play Store will provide other options for users and competitors. In addition, it will also improve Android services and app stores.
Google said: "We are pleased to have reached an agreement"
