Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the founder and former CEO of Binance, has once again captured the attention of the crypto community with his controversial statement. In an interview with a Turkish crypto influencer, CZ suggested the possibility that Satoshi Nakamoto, the mysterious figure behind the creation of Bitcoin, might be an artificial intelligence (AI) from the future. “I think maybe this is software that traveled back through time… Although it’s hard to imagine now, it could have happened,” CZ said in the interview, as reported by Crypto.news. He added that this speculation cannot be dismissed, considering the complexity of the system built by Satoshi.

Although CZ put forward such a bold theory, he admitted that he does not know the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. He also emphasized that he has never communicated directly with Satoshi, although he knows some individuals who had corresponded with Satoshi via email during the early days of Bitcoin.

CZ’s statement adds to the growing list of theories regarding the true identity of Satoshi Nakamoto. Previously, names such as Hal Finney, Nick Szabo, and Adam Back had surfaced in speculation.
