Ripple Launches Grant Program for Early-Stage Startups in Japan Developing on XRPL
Ripple, the global blockchain company behind the XRP Ledger (XRPL), has officially launched a grant program for early-stage startups in Japan that are building solutions based on XRPL. The initiative is organized in collaboration with Web3 Salon and is supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and Asia Web3 Alliance Japan.
Through the proposed funding scheme, each selected project will have the opportunity to receive up to US$200,000 in support, with a primary focus on innovations in decentralized finance (DeFi) and real-world asset (RWA) tokenization.
This initiative is part of the XRPL Japan and Korea Fund, which is included in Ripple’s broader strategic commitment of 1 billion XRP to accelerate the growth of the XRPL ecosystem across Asia. Projects will be selected through a rigorous process based on long-term growth potential, technological maturity, and alignment with Ripple’s strategic direction in the region.
Beyond funding, selected startups will gain access to a range of ongoing support, including:
Mentorship from industry experts
Technical and business development workshops
Marketing and go-to-market strategy guidance
Access to Ripple’s global network, including investors, regulators, and industry partners—all facilitated by Web3 Salon.
As part of efforts to strengthen the XRPL community in Japan, Ripple and Web3 Salon have also scheduled four major events through March 2026, which will feature:
Startup pitch competitions
Cross-sector panel discussions
Networking sessions with investors and regulators
Educational workshops on tokenization, legal compliance, and cross-border expansion strategies
The launch of this grant program reflects Ripple’s strong commitment to bolstering the infrastructure and innovation of Web3 in Japan—one of the world’s most progressive countries in terms of crypto regulation. This collaboration between the public sector, represented by JETRO, and the private sector, represented by Ripple and Web3 Salon, is expected to foster a supportive environment for the growth of XRPL-based startups that are resilient, innovative, and globally connected.
