The Iskandar Muda Regional Military Command (Kodam IM) in Aceh deployed an MI-17 V5 helicopter to deliver logistical aid to residents affected by flooding in Langsa City and East Aceh Regency. This action was taken because land routes became inaccessible due to infrastructure damage.

According to Antara on Wednesday (3/12/2025), the President’s Media Team in Jakarta reported that the helicopter, registered as HA-5157 and departing from Sultan Iskandar Muda Air Base, transported a total of 1.5 tons of logistics containing food supplies and medicines starting Tuesday (2/12).

“This delivery is part of continuous efforts to ensure that the basic needs of the residents are met. We will keep monitoring conditions in the affected areas and increase assistance if required,” stated Commander of Kodam Iskandar Muda, Major General Joko Hadi Susilo.

He explained that operating the helicopter was a swift response to support communities still struggling due to severed land routes and limited logistics distribution in several flood-hit regions.

The MI-17 V5 helicopter is capable of reaching difficult terrain and carrying a substantial load of supplies, making it one of the most effective options for mid-range humanitarian missions.

He added that this logistics deployment reflects the concern and responsibility of Kodam Iskandar Muda in assisting local governments to expedite disaster relief efforts. He emphasized that TNI personnel are always ready to support the community.

The 1.5-ton shipment included Eprokal ready-to-eat meal packages, vitamins, essential medicines, and other health-supporting items.

All supplies were prepared by Kodam Iskandar Muda personnel to ensure immediate distribution upon arrival in Langsa.

After a flight lasting several dozen minutes, the MI-17 V5 helicopter landed directly at the designated distribution point set by the local government and the emergency response team.

From that location, the assistance will be allocated to the citizens in greatest need with support from TNI troops, BPBD members, and local volunteers.
