Indonesia’s stock market opened lower at the end of the week. The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) started Friday, October 30, 2026, at 5,075.50, down 0.44% or 22.55 points from the previous close. At 9:01 a.m. Western Indonesia Time, it had traded between 5,053.66 and 5,078.61. Early market data showed 117 advancing stocks, 373 decliners and 168 unchanged issues; market capitalization stood at Rp8,928.38 trillion.

The opening followed a steep correction on Thursday, October 29, when the JCI fell 3.49% to 5,098.05. Several large-cap stocks came under pressure. MORA dropped 6.97% to Rp2,270, BREN lost 4.66% to Rp1,849, and PANI declined 2.97% to Rp3,920. Among LQ45 constituents, ISAT fell 6.83% to Rp1,365 and SCMA slipped 3.85% to Rp125.

## Foreign flows and global pressure

Bisnis.com reported foreign investors recorded net sales of around Rp1.52 trillion on Thursday. The stocks most heavily sold included BBCA, BBRI, BMRI, ANTM and TLKM. The flow data adds context to the market’s weakness, although it does not by itself explain every stock’s move.

Overseas sentiment was also in focus. Wall Street ended lower the previous day amid concern about the scale of capital spending on artificial intelligence development, alongside releases on U.S. inflation and economic growth. The Nasdaq fell 1.37%, the S&P 500 lost 0.30%, and the Dow Jones declined 0.25%. Alphabet shares slid 12.6% after quarterly revenue missed market expectations as AI costs increased.

## A technical outlook, not a certainty

BNI Sekuritas Head of Retail Research Fanny Suherman said the JCI could see a short-term technical rebound on Friday. The brokerage’s daily research placed support at 5,050–5,080 and resistance at 5,120–5,180. This was a technical view for that trading session, not a guaranteed index direction or advice suitable for every investor.
