Oil prices eased after renewed diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran emerged. Bloomberg Technoz, citing Bloomberg News on October 29, 2026, reported WTI near US$102 a barrel after gaining about 3% in the previous session. Brent was close to US$115. Those figures reflect trading at the time of the report, not a guaranteed level.
Talks were described as taking place through mediators. Iran’s foreign minister said the country was open to diplomacy, while U.S. President Donald Trump said the outcome remained uncertain. Markets weighed potential changes in supply and geopolitical risk, but there was no certainty that negotiations would produce an agreement or change production.
Brent was reported to have gained about 11% during the month. Elevated energy prices can add to inflation pressure and influence central-bank deliberations. However, oil is also affected by demand, inventories, production, logistics disruptions and global economic conditions. Diplomatic statements are therefore only one part of the price picture.
Energy investors should distinguish daily moves from multi-month trends and remember that futures can be highly volatile. Claims about supply and the outcome of diplomacy should await confirmation from actual developments. This article summarizes the situation reported on October 29; it is not a price forecast or trading recommendation.
