DIGIVESTASI - Minister of State Secretary Pratikno has clarified the reports about the rental cost of Alphard cars in the new capital city (IKN), reaching Rp 25 million per day ahead of Independence Day celebrations. Pratikno explained that the infrastructure and road access to IKN are still limited.

"For this ceremony, the infrastructure capacity in IKN is very limited, and the transport routes from Balikpapan to IKN are also restricted. The toll road is not fully completed, the airport in IKN is not yet finished, and it is expected to be completed by the end of August or early September. So, we are still facing challenges related to transportation infrastructure for the execution of the proclamation ceremony in IKN," Pratikno said at the State Secretariat, Jakarta, Tuesday (6/8/2024).

Pratikno added that the main challenge is not just the number of cars but also the infrastructure limitations. Therefore, the government will utilize buses as a means of transportation.

"Therefore, the challenge is not only the number of cars but also the limited infrastructure. Hence, we will use buses to facilitate transportation to the ceremony site," he said.

Regarding the car rental price reaching Rp 25 million, Pratikno mentioned that it is the local market rate. He emphasized that the government will be using buses.

"So, we will facilitate transportation in the form of buses to the ceremony site," he reiterated.
