Agustinus emphasized that Untar will continue to contribute to various research and publication activities, especially in the field of hydraulics, in accordance with its potential. This is to support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), mainly related to providing access to clean water and sanitation through the implementation of undersea pipeline technology.

 

"Untar has implemented underwater pipe technology in Selar Limbo, which is located between Taliabu Island and Limbo Island, North Maluku. Together with our partners, we have distributed clean water to fishing settlements which still experience limited access," said Agustinus. Meanwhile, Chairman of the Tarumanegara Foundation, Ariawan Gunardi, emphasized that there is an urgency in dealing with climate change by using clean water.

 

According to him, these efforts can be supported by technological innovation, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and participation of the younger generation. "Currently, collaboration to achieve SDG 6, namely clean water and proper sanitation, is very necessary," said Ariawan. The 8th HEIS Seminar was attended by 317 participants consisting of academics and practitioners. In addition, 47 speakers have been selected through an assessment process by 13 young researchers in the water resources sector of the PUPR Ministry. The event invited international speakers, President of the International Association for Hydro Environment Engineering and Research Phillippe Gourbesville, Yooshin Engineering Corporation South Korea Ich Hwan Ko, and Senior Manager of Korea Water Resources Corporation Jongchan Kim.

 

Apart from that, also present were the General Chair of HATHI Bob Arthur Lombogia and the Assistant for Development and Environment of the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of the Special Capital Region (DKI) Province of Jakarta Afan Adriansyah Idris.
