DIGIVESTASI - Chairman of the Prabowo TKN Expert Council, Burhanuddin Abdullah, emphasized that President-elect Prabowo Subianto will actively respond to the global geopolitical tensions that are currently heating up. Prabowo will certainly take an important role during his administration for the next five years by working to create world peace.

“Mr Prabowo is very active in international diplomacy and he positions himself not only as a leader of Indonesia, but also as a leader of the region and the world,” Mr Burhanuddin said after attending the UOB Economic Outlook 2025 event in Jakarta on Wednesday (25/9/2024).

While the world is currently full of uncertainties and conflicts, Mr Burhanuddin assured that the Prabowo administration will take strategic steps to ensure Indonesia can capitalize on global economic opportunities to achieve high economic growth.

“The next government will be very agile in taking advantage of opportunities abroad,” he said.

Prabowo also has the ambition to make Indonesia one of the largest economies in the next five years, with a target economic growth of 8%. Burhanuddin reminded Prabowo that Indonesia had achieved economic growth of 8% during the New Order era.

“We have grown 8% in history, and Prabowo believes we can return to that figure,” he added.

Meanwhile, the escalating conflicts, such as Israel's attack on Lebanon, are in the international spotlight. Israel has declared a national state of emergency until September 30, following airstrikes targeting Hezbollah military commanders, potentially triggering a wider conflict escalation. The Israeli government, through Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, has declared a “special situation on the home front” throughout Israel.
