After serving as leader, Jokowi will receive a pension like any other civil servant. The provisions regarding Indonesia's pension fund and the allowances of the President and Vice President are regulated in Law No. 7 of 1978 on the Financial/Administrative Rights of the President and Vice President and Former President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Article 6 of the law states that presidents and vice presidents who leave office with honor are entitled to a pension. In this case, the basic pension amount is 100% of the last basic salary. Meanwhile, the president's basic salary is six times higher than the highest basic salary of Indonesian government officials, excluding the president and vice president.

The highest basic salary for civil servants as a benchmark is regulated in Government Regulation Number 75 of 2000, which is Rp5,040,000 per month. The President's basic salary according to this Decree is Rp30,240,000 per month. Meanwhile, Article 7 of Law Number 7 of 1978 explains that in addition to the basic pension fund, Jokowi also receives tantiem in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable to civil servant pensions. He also receives household expenses related to the use of water, electricity, and telephone.

In addition, the state covers all health costs for him and his family. Meanwhile, referring to Presidential Decree (Keppres) Number 68 of 2001, the amount of compensation provided by the President of the Republic of Indonesia is IDR 32,500,000 per month. Retired former presidents and vice presidents will receive, in addition to financial benefits, suitable accommodation with all necessary equipment. The government also provides a vehicle with a driver. The retirement salary and other benefits of former presidents and former vice presidents are paid from the month following their honorable dismissal.
