DIGIVESTASI - Former President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has officially received his lifetime pension. The symbolic handover of the pension was carried out by PT Taspen at Jokowi's residence in Solo, Central Java, recently. In a post on Instagram @taspen, the company shared the pension benefits ceremony, which was conducted by Taspen's Operational Director, Ariyandi, and Taspen's Finance Director, Rena Latsmi Puri, to Jokowi.
Jokowi's pension will be distributed monthly through a Bank Mandiri Taspen account. PT Taspen emphasized its commitment to providing proactive service to Civil Servants (ASN) and state officials who are entering retirement, ensuring their welfare.
"This commitment is realized through the distribution of Pension and Old Age Savings (THT) benefits to the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. H. Joko Widodo, as a recognition of his service to the country," said Taspen in its post.
Jokowi's Pension Amount
According to the provisions outlined in Law (UU) Number 7 of 1978 concerning the Financial/Administrative Rights of the President and Vice President, as well as Former Presidents and Vice Presidents, presidents and vice presidents who resign honorably from their positions are entitled to receive a pension. Article 6, Paragraph 1 of this law states that the pension amount for a president or vice president is equal to 100% of their last basic salary.
In this case, Jokowi will receive a pension equivalent to the highest basic salary of state officials. The highest basic salary for state officials is currently given to the Chairman of the MPR, DPR, DPA, BPK, and MA, as outlined in Article 1, point a, of Government Regulation (PP) Number 75 of 2000.
"The Chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, the Chairman of the People's Representative Council, the Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Council, the Chairman of the Audit Board of Indonesia, and the Chairman of the Supreme Court receive a basic salary of Rp 5,040,000 per month," stated Article 1, Letter (a) of PP 75/2000.
Therefore, Jokowi is entitled to receive a pension of Rp 30,240,000 per month, which is 6 times the highest basic salary of state officials (6 x Rp 5,040,000).
