DIGIVESTASI - Indonesia national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, officially received the Golden Visa from President Joko Widodo on Thursday (July 25, 2024) at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Jakarta. The Golden Visa is designed to facilitate foreign nationals (WNA) in investing and working in Indonesia.

President Jokowi revealed that the launch of the Golden Visa service aims to provide ease for foreign nationals who want to invest and contribute to Indonesia. "The Golden Visa service is launched to facilitate foreign nationals who wish to invest and pursue careers in Indonesia," said President Jokowi.

Jokowi emphasized the importance of selectivity in granting the Golden Visa. "Only foreign nationals with high qualifications will receive this visa. The selection process must be very strict to ensure that they contribute positively and do not jeopardize national security," Jokowi asserted.

During the event, President Jokowi presented the Golden Visa to Shin Tae-yong, coach of the Indonesian national team. Shin Tae-yong received the award on stage.

The Golden Visa grants residency in Indonesia for a period of 5 to 10 years and is intended for foreign nationals who are considered to bring benefits to the country's economy.

Since 2020, Shin Tae-yong has led the Indonesian national team, successfully guiding the team to the Round of 16 in the Asian Cup and reaching the semifinals of the U-23 Asian Cup for the first time. Shin Tae-yong's contract, which has been extended until 2027, now focuses on the third round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers for the Asian zone and efforts to elevate the Indonesian national team into the top 100 of the FIFA rankings.
