Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa openly revealed the economic value (true cost) of subsidized fuel, Pertalite (RON 90).

He stated that the current retail price of Pertalite does not yet reflect its actual economic value. The government continues to set the official price of Pertalite at Rp10,000 per liter, a rate that has remained unchanged since September 3, 2022.

“For the time being, the government has been covering the gap between the economic price and the price paid by consumers through both energy and non-energy subsidies,” Purbaya said during a Working Meeting with Commission XI of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta recently.

He further explained that the real, unsubsidized price of Pertalite should be around Rp11,700 per liter. This means the government is bearing a difference of approximately Rp1,700 per liter so that consumers can continue purchasing fuel at Rp10,000 per liter.

Meanwhile, starting October 1, 2025, PT Pertamina (Persero) officially implemented new prices for non-subsidized fuels across its fuel stations.
The Pertamax RON 92 price remains unchanged at Rp12,200 per liter, while Pertamax Turbo continues to be sold at Rp13,100 per liter throughout October 2025.

On the other hand, Pertamina Dex experienced a price increase to Rp14,000 per liter, up from Rp13,850 per liter in September 2025.
Similarly, Dexlite also saw a rise of Rp100 per liter, bringing its price to Rp13,700 per liter, compared to Rp13,600 per liter in the previous month.
