Aditya Grasio Nelwan, Head of Communications for Tokopedia and TikTok E-commerce, revealed that the company has scaled down several features in the Tokopedia Seller Center following the announcement of a seller migration to the unified Tokopedia & TikTok Shop Seller Center.
As a result, sellers on Tokopedia are now experiencing more limited functionality and reduced flexibility on the platform.
One of the specific changes includes restrictions on adding new products.
“At the Tokopedia Seller Center, we’ve gradually reduced certain features. In fact, on June 9, we deactivated quite a few functions as well. This is part of our strategy to encourage sellers to transition to the new Tokopedia & TikTok Shop Seller Center,” Aditya explained during a media interview held in Jakarta on Thursday (June 12, 2025).
Despite the restrictions, Aditya assured that sellers can still conduct transactions and continue selling through the Tokopedia Seller Center.
“Although some functions are limited, transactions are still possible. That’s why we strongly encourage sellers to start integrating now so their businesses can continue to grow,” he added.
He also noted that not all sellers have migrated to the newly integrated seller center combining Tokopedia and TikTok Shop.
According to Aditya, some sellers are still hesitant to migrate due to widespread myths about the integration process. These misconceptions include the belief that sellers must operate stores on both platforms, are required to produce TikTok video content, or must activate Cash on Delivery (COD) services.
In addition to misinformation, Aditya suspects that certain technical difficulties have made the migration process challenging for some sellers.
“I can't provide the exact percentage yet, but the majority of our sellers have already made the move,” he stated.
For context, this integration is part of a transition program following Bytedance's acquisition of Tokopedia from GoTo. All sellers were required to migrate to the new seller center by no later than June 9, 2025.
