DIGIVESTASI - The Ministry of Trade continues to encourage plans to expand Indonesian products abroad. This was revealed by Jerry Sambuaga, Deputy Minister of Trade (Wamendag).
During a visit to the PT Bakri Pipe Industries (BPI) factory in Bekasi, West Java, Thursday, January 25, Jerry said export products make a positive contribution to Indonesia's economic growth.
"The Ministry of Trade remains committed to promoting plans to expand Indonesian products abroad. Economic stakeholders must be optimistic that the products they produce will thrive and perform well in the global market. We must do so," said Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry in a statement in Jakarta. Friday (January 26).
Jerry said the government has 46 trade representatives around the world. The representatives consist of 19 Indonesia Trade Promotion Centers (ITPCs), 24 Trade Attaches (Atdags), trade consuls, the Indonesian Trade and Economic Authority (KDEI), and World Trade Organization (WTO) ambassadors.
Economic businesses can contact Indonesian sales representatives who are responsible for promoting Indonesian products. "We have 46 sales representatives around the world. There are Atodags stationed in state capitals and ITPCs stationed in commercial cities." "Indonesian trade representatives around the world are ready to provide convenience for economic actors to export their products abroad," Jerry said.
Meanwhile, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus for 44 consecutive months since May 2020, according to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Indonesia's trade surplus in December 2023 amounted to $3.31 billion. This surplus increased compared to the previous month of $2.41 billion.
