Jokowi said that previously he only held 9% of Indonesia's shares. Then it was taken over through negotiations, and now the majority reaches 51%. This means that Freeport is no longer part of America. It belongs to Indonesia, to our country. Don't imagine that America has become Indonesia, Jokowi said in Jakarta, Thursday, March 28, 2024.

In fact, Jokowi emphasized that Indonesia's ownership in Freeport Indonesia will soon increase to 61 percent. Of course, Freeport's revenue that goes into the country's pocket in the future will increase, he said. "Indonesia will soon increase this percentage to 61%. And currently, 70 percent of Freeport's revenue will go to the state. Once it reaches 61 percent, 80 percent will go to the state."
