DIGIVESTASI - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) attended the Digital Economy and Finance Festival (FEKDI) and Indonesian Creative Works (KKI) at JCC Senayan, Jakarta, Monday (1/8/2024). In his remarks, Jokowi explained the potential of Indonesia's digital economy which is predicted to double by 2030.
"I often convey about the potential of Indonesia's digital opportunities in the future. The digital economy will grow fourfold by 2030, reaching US$ 210-360 billion, or around Rp 5,800 trillion," Jokowi said.
Jokowi also mentioned that digital payments are projected to increase 2.5 times by 2030, reaching US$ 760 billion, or around Rp 12,300 trillion.
"A very large number," he said.
According to the former Governor of DKI Jakarta, the growth is also supported by the peak of Indonesia's demographic bonus, where 68% of Indonesia's population in 2030 will be in productive age, including generations Y, Z, and Alpha.
In addition, the number of active mobile phone users in Indonesia has reached 345 million units, exceeding the current population of 280 million people.
"This means that one person can have more than one cell phone, with 185 million internet users. This is a huge number, with huge potential," he said.
