PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI has provided an explanation regarding a viral video showing leaky roofs at Halim High-Speed Train Station and Cawang LRT Station in Jakarta, due to heavy rain on Saturday night, November 4, 2023. The video has been widely circulated and became viral on various social media platforms.
Joni Martinus, Vice President of Public Relations at KAI, explained that the roof leaks occurred due to heavy rainfall in the Jakarta area. Although several ceilings at Halim High-Speed Train Station and Cawang LRT Station experienced leaks, this condition did not disrupt passenger services as a whole.
As a quick response, KAI, along with LRT Jabodebek and KCIC, immediately coordinated with the station's construction contractors. Cawang LRT Station was built by Adhi Karya, while the area of Halim LRT Station and Halim High-Speed Train Station was constructed by WIKA. Investigation and ceiling repairs have already begun and are expected to be completed soon.
Joni also conveyed KAI's apology for any inconvenience that passengers may have experienced due to heavy rain in the Cawang and Halim station areas. KAI, KCIC, LRT Jabodebek, along with the contractors, will conduct a comprehensive inspection at all LRT Jabodebek and high-speed train stations to prevent similar incidents from recurring. They are committed to maintaining the quality of service and facilities to ensure optimal service for passengers.
