Prabowo Secures $20 Billion for Investment in 20+ National Projects

President Prabowo Subianto announced that the government has successfully secured $20 billion (Rp 300 trillion) for investment in more than 20 national projects.

These funds were previously hindered by inefficiency, corruption, and misdirected spending.

Prabowo made this statement during the launch of Danantara at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday (February 24, 2025).

"We have secured more than Rp 300 trillion, nearly $20 billion, in state savings. These funds were previously trapped due to inefficiencies, corruption, and misallocated expenditures," Prabowo stated.

Danantara to Manage Investment Funds

The President confirmed that the funds would now be allocated and managed by Danantara Indonesia.

"These funds will be managed by Danantara Indonesia and invested in 20 or more national projects as part of our industrialization and downstream processing strategy," he explained.

According to Prabowo, this initiative is a strong testament to Indonesia’s commitment to responsible and disciplined financial governance, particularly in the first 100 days of his administration.

The national projects funded through this investment will be high-impact initiatives, designed to generate significant added value for the nation.

"These projects will create tangible benefits, high-quality jobs, and long-term prosperity for the Indonesian people," he added.

Danantara Modeled After Singapore’s Temasek

Previously, it was reported that Danantara would operate similarly to Singapore’s Temasek Holdings Limited.

Temasek functions as an independent investment management body that operates outside of Singapore’s state budget (APBN).

Additionally, Danantara is expected to play a similar role to the Indonesia Investment Authority (INA), with plans for INA to be consolidated into this new investment entity.
