The Indonesian government continues to monitor the potential impact of the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by the United States on the domestic economy, including possible effects on trade. Venezuela remains one of Indonesia’s export destinations in the Latin American region.
According to data from the Ministry of Trade, Venezuela ranked as Indonesia’s 98th largest export destination, with total exports amounting to US$75.084 million from January to November 2025.
Indonesia’s exports to Venezuela are primarily dominated by motor vehicles equipped with spark-ignition internal combustion piston engines with engine capacities ranging from 1,000 cc to 1,500 cc, generating export values of US$52.3 million.
The second-largest export category consists of soap and organic surface-active products in the form of bars, sheets, or nonwoven materials coated with soap or detergent for bathing purposes, including medicinal products, valued at US$8.06 million.
This is followed by yarn made from polyester staple fibers (excluding sewing thread), mixed mainly or entirely with cotton, which recorded export values of US$3.7 million during the January–November 2025 period.
Indonesia also exported soap and organic surface-active products in bars, sheets, or nonwoven forms that are impregnated, coated, or covered with soap or detergent for non-bathing uses, amounting to US$3.1 million.
Other exported products include tissues, towels, napkins, and similar household or sanitary items made from cellulose fibers, either in rolls wider than 36 cm or rectangular sheets with at least one side exceeding 36 cm when unfolded, with a total value of US$1.9 million.
Exports of cotton T-shirts, singlets, and other vests produced through knitting or crocheting reached US$777.3 thousand.
Greaseproof paper in rolls or sheets contributed export values of US$417.3 thousand.
Insecticides packaged for direct use were exported with a value of US$387.4 thousand.
Parts or components for electric batteries accounted for US$367.1 thousand in export value.
Lastly, edible mixed products derived from animal, vegetable, or microbial fats or oils recorded exports worth US$361.9 thousand.
