Pengembang Dogecoin mengumumkan versi testnet dari cabang Dogechain baru yang berfokus pada utilitas yang terbuka bagi pengembang untuk dapat mulai membangun proyeknya sebelum memasuki peluncuran resminya di Mainnet.
“Dogechain dibangun di atas Polygon Edge, yang memungkinkan proyek mem-bootstrap jaringan blockchain baru yang menyediakan kompatibilitas penuh dengan smart-contract dan transaksi pada jaringan Ethereum. Menggunakan mekanisme konsensus IBFT (Istanbul Byzantine Fault Tolerant), dan mendukung PoS (proof-of-stake).”
Menurut situs web proyek, fitur akan mencakup game, non-fungible token (NFT), desentralisasi keuangan (DeFi), dan aplikasi terdesentralisasi lainnya (DApps). DOGE sendiri akan digunakan sebagai biaya gas untuk menggerakkan rantai baru yang beroperasi sebagai mekanisme bukti kepemilikan.
