Prabowo invites US corporate giants to invest in Indonesia: “Join in RI's Development!”

DIGIVESTASI - President Prabowo Subianto Encourages U.S. Companies to Increase Investment in Indonesia, President Prabowo Subianto has urged large companies from the United States (U.S.) to continue increasing their investments in Indonesia.

 

This call was made during a meeting with members of the United States – Indonesia Society (USINDO) at the Dumbarton Room, Four Seasons Hotel, Washington D.C., on Monday, November 11, 2024.

 

"I encourage them to keep investing and participate in Indonesia's development plans," Prabowo said, as quoted from a YouTube broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

 

During the meeting, Prabowo had direct discussions with several leaders of major U.S. companies that have long invested in Indonesia, such as Freeport, Chevron, General Electric, Georgetown, and other large companies.

 

Prabowo also expressed his enthusiasm for the continued commitment of U.S. companies to contribute to Indonesia’s economic development.

 

"They have long been involved in Indonesia's economy and development, and they continue to believe in Indonesia and our economy," said Prabowo.

 

Meanwhile, U.S. Deputy Ambassador and USINDO advisor, Ted Osius, expressed appreciation for President Prabowo's pro-business stance and openness to investment.

 

Ted Osius added that in early December, he will bring several U.S. business leaders to Indonesia.

"We are very pleased to have a pro-business president who warmly welcomes us and clearly shows how he will support U.S. businesses and businesses from other countries," said Ted Osius.

 

During the meeting, President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Rosan Roeslani, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie, and the Acting Head of the Indonesian Embassy in Washington D.C., Ida Bagus Made Bimantara.
