"We appreciate PT Hotel Indonesia Natour, also known as InJourney Hospitality, as the SEZ Sanur's Development and Management Enterprise (BUPP), for completing the development in less than three years. Based on the rankings by LPEM UI, Sanur SEZ ranks fourth overall and second in the service SEZ category," said Acting Secretary General of the National SEZ Council, Rizal Edwin, in a written statement on Monday (November 4, 2024).
This ranking is based on several indicators, such as performance, investment realization, job creation, and the SEZ’s contribution to Indonesia’s economic growth.
Sanur SEZ, which was inaugurated through Government Regulation No. 41 of 2022, is Indonesia's first SEZ focused on the healthcare sector. The area, developed over 41.26 hectares, is equipped with international standard healthcare and tourism facilities, including four- and five-star hotels, premium villas/resorts, an Ethnobotanical Garden, an international convention center with a capacity of up to 5,000 people, commercial areas, an SME hub, and other supporting facilities with the latest technology.
Sanur SEZ offers an integrated concept of healthcare and tourism services, aiming to address the needs of Indonesians who have previously preferred seeking medical treatment abroad.
PT Hotel Indonesia Natour, designated as the BUPP of Sanur SEZ by the Decree of the Chair of the National SEZ Council No. 6 of 2022, has achieved significant milestones in the first half of 2024. Investment in the area has reached Rp2.99 trillion, with job creation totaling 2,853 positions.
Throughout 2024, Sanur SEZ realized investments amounting to Rp938.3 billion, or 67.9% of the target, and created 495 jobs, representing 30.9% of the employment target.
Christine Hutabarat, President Director of PT Hotel Indonesia Natour (InJourney Hospitality), stated that the company remains committed to continuous innovation in developing Sanur SEZ to create an inclusive and sustainable health tourism ecosystem.
"With these achievements, Sanur SEZ remains optimistic in supporting national economic growth and realizing its vision as an International Medical & Wellness destination that adds value and creates a positive impact on both the local and national economy," Christine said.
