DIGIVESTASI - The Saudi Arabian Ambassador to Indonesia, Faisal Abdullah Al-Amudi, outlined several cooperation projects in the energy sector with a total investment value of 625 million USD or approximately IDR 9.91 trillion.

In a statement delivered at the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Jakarta on Thursday (December 5, 2024), Faisal explained that the substantial investment covers five major projects involving Saudi and Indonesian companies.

The first project is the development of a Floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) at Saguling Reservoir in West Bandung District, West Java. This project is a collaboration between the Saudi energy company ACWA Power and Indonesia’s PLN. The floating solar plant is designed to generate a capacity of up to 92 megawatt peak (MWp) with a project value of 75 million USD or approximately IDR 1.19 trillion.

The second project is the development of solar power at Lake Singkarak in West Sumatra, which is currently still in the negotiation stage. The investment value of this project is estimated to reach 70 million USD or around IDR 1.11 trillion.

The third project is located in Lampung and is also under discussion. The investment value of this project is estimated at 140 million USD or approximately IDR 2.22 trillion. This project is planned to begin in 2027 and is expected to be completed before 2030.

The fourth project will be carried out in West Kalimantan, with an estimated investment value between 40 million USD and 80 million USD, or around IDR 634.6 billion to IDR 1.26 trillion.

The fifth project is a green hydrogen initiative, a collaboration between ACWA Power and PLN with an investment value of 300 million USD or approximately IDR 4.76 trillion.

"The total investment for these five projects is estimated to reach 625 million USD or nearly IDR 10 trillion when converted to rupiah," Faisal concluded his presentation.
