DIGIVESTASI - As the backbone of logistics that responds to the needs of local communities, the logistics industry is expected to be increasingly adaptable in product distribution. That's because the logistics industry plays a much bigger role than just delivering goods to customers on time.

Logistics companies play an important role in supporting the development of the digital economy supported by the Indonesian government. One of the reasons for the increase in digital platform activities to meet daily needs is the change in consumer behavior, which is said to have changed significantly since the pandemic. On that basis, e-commerce plays an important role in accelerating the development of the digital economy, which is dominated by MSMEs.  

Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga during an educational talk show on digitalization of markets, stalls, and MSMEs in East Java quoted a statement that 20,997,131 MSMEs will be digitalized by 2022. Given this reality, there is a strategic relationship between MSMEs and logistics companies that can support further growth of the digital economy. J&T Express, one of the shipping companies that has shaped Indonesia's logistics industry for eight years, is helping the government's goal to achieve 800% growth in the value of the digital economy by 2030 by strengthening existing MSMEs.

For 8 years of operation, J&T Express has held various MSME empowerment programs including J&T Youngpreneur in the form of roadshows to business development seminars for students to get first-hand explanations of business strategies from local entrepreneurs in each region.

Followed by the J&T Superseller Incubator Competition Program, where selected MSME students from various universities in Indonesia receive business funding for three months to develop their business. The three successful winners are now successfully expanding their business markets. But that's not all. As part of the Enabling Potential program, J&T Express also develops empowerment programs for MSMEs with disabilities.

The program involved more than 100 participants who attended a week-long business training with business experts from various fields. Until the top 10 MSMEs with disabilities were selected who were able to get entrepreneurial support to meet their business equipment needs. J&T Express has connected many MSMEs and customers through both e-commerce and non-e-commerce platforms.

Looking forward to 2024, J&T Express will make the most of its services to boost trade and contribute to economic growth. In addition, J&T Express will continue to intensify various initiatives for MSMEs in Indonesia. The focus of these efforts is on business development and business capacity building.
