DIGIVESTASI - Former Chairman and Director of Unilever Indonesia, Ira Noviarti, sold all her shares in the company to fund her children's education.

Ira sold her 870 UNVR shares on November 2, 2023. The sale was made about a month after she resigned as manager of Unilever Indonesia on October 24, 2023.

"Purpose of transaction: children's education needs," Ira's statement read in Unilever Indonesia's letter to the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Wednesday (November 29).

Each of his shares is valued at IDR 3,650. That way, the total shares sold by Ira reached IDR 3.17 billion. Initially he still held 0.002 percent of the shares of the issuer coded UNVR. Now, Ira has no shares in the company at all.

Ira left her position at Unilever Indonesia for personal reasons. The company did not elaborate on what these personal reasons were. Instead, PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk proposed the name Benjie Yap to fill the vacancy. Later, Benjie will be approved as the new managing director at the general meeting of shareholders (GMS).

Only a month later, two Unilever directors followed Ira. They are Shiv Sahgal and Sandeep Kohli who also compactly resigned from their director positions in the company. Practically, in the span of 11 months, there have been 4 UNVR officials who resigned. Before the three of them, Alper Kulak also resigned from his director position in June 2023 for personal reasons.

Unilever Indonesia will hold extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (EGMS) on December 19, 2023.
