IDX Ends Stronger as IHSG Rises for Fourth Straight Day; INET Among Top Gainers
Jakarta – The Indonesia Composite Stock Index (IHSG) closed higher for the fourth consecutive session on Wednesday (April 23, 2025), gaining 96.11 points or 1.47% to finish at 6,634.3, reflecting persistent positive investor sentiment.
According to RTI data, 412 stocks advanced, 193 declined, and 201 remained unchanged. The total market turnover reached IDR 13.65 trillion, with a trading volume of 21.94 billion shares across 1,286,794 transactions.
Nearly all sectors finished in the green. Property led the gains with a 2.5% increase, followed by healthcare (1.8%), non-cyclical consumer goods (1.7%), financials (1.6%), and primary consumer goods (1.4%). The only sector that declined was basic materials, down 1.9%.
Asian markets also saw broad gains. Singapore’s Straits Times rose 0.9%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng surged 2.3%, and Japan’s Nikkei added 1.8%, while China’s Shanghai index edged down 0.1%.
Five stocks stood out as top gainers, each surging over 19% in a single session. PT Chitose Internasional Tbk (CINT) soared 29.4% to IDR 220, PT MDTV Media Technologies Tbk (NETV) jumped 24.2% to IDR 236, and PT Diagnos Laboratorium Utama Tbk (DGNS) climbed 23.3% to IDR 185. Meanwhile, PT Sinergi Inti Andalan Prima Tbk (INET) rose 23.2% to IDR 143, and PT Fortune Indonesia Tbk (FORU) increased 19.2% to IDR 1,085.
According to Pilarmas Investindo Sekuritas, the rally in Indonesian and Asian stocks was fueled by remarks from U.S. President Donald Trump, who assured that Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell would not be replaced. This helped ease concerns over central bank independence and policy consistency.
Trump also said that the final tariff rate on Chinese imports would not reach 145%. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent added a more optimistic note by suggesting that a de-escalation in the U.S.-China trade war was possible, although negotiations would remain complex and protracted.
