IHSG Surges 2.37% After Sharp Decline, Foreign Investors Continue Selling

After a significant drop in the previous session, the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG) rebounded strongly on Wednesday (March 5, 2025), closing 2.37% higher at 6,531.40.

 

Total trading value reached Rp 13.32 trillion, with 21.70 billion shares changing hands in 1.03 million transactions. The market saw 438 stocks rising, 195 declining, and 322 remaining flat.

 

Despite the impressive rally, foreign investors continued their net selling, recording Rp 78.34 billion in total across all markets. In the negotiation and cash market, foreign investors sold Rp 197.00 billion, offsetting Rp 118.66 billion in net purchases.

Foreign investors' selling pressure weighed on IHSG, especially on large-cap stocks. According to Stockbit, here are the top stocks with the highest net foreign sell on Wednesday:

  2. PT Petrosea Tbk. (PTRO) – Rp 54.02 billion
  3. PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk. (BRIS) – Rp 46.24 billion
  4. PT Merdeka Copper Gold Tbk. (MDKA) – Rp 38.25 billion
  5. PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk. (INKP) – Rp 20.75 billion
  6. PT Map Aktif Adiperkasa Tbk. (MAPA) – Rp 19.07 billion
  7. PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (AMRT) – Rp 16.71 billion
  8. PT Indofood CBP Sukses Makmur Tbk. (ICBP) – Rp 14.71 billion
